Saginaw MAX System of Care Initiative Receives Four Year Expansion Grant from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
SAGINAW, MI – Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority (SCCMHA) and Saginaw MAX System of Care are excited to announce the receipt of a four year expansion grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to continue and expand the system of care effort. The purpose of this award is to address the unmet needs of youth with emotional and behavioral challenges and their families that have been identified in the Saginaw community, and progress the system of care initiative to a statewide level.
Saginaw MAX Family Group to Host Anti-Stigma Event with Community Leaders
Saginaw MAX System of Care’s family involvement group, Empowered to Reach and Teach Families Team (ERTFT), is hosting an anti-stigma panel discussion this Thursday, May 29, from 12:00pm – 4:00pm at the Albert & Woods Professional Development and Business Center in Saginaw.
Saginaw MAX System of Care Hosts Annual Holiday Gala
SAGINAW, MI - Saginaw MAX System of Care, a community initiative funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, hosted their annual Holiday Gala on Thursday,
Dec. 19 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. in Unity Hall at the Dow Event Center in downtown Saginaw. The event was hosted in celebration of youth, family and partner collaboration within Saginaw MAX System of Care, and their efforts to reform mental health awareness and care in Saginaw County.
Saginaw MAX System of Care Featured in SAMHSA Documentary
SAGINAW, MI - The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in partnership with Pat Baker of Baker Squared, LLC and Elaine Slaton of Elaine Slaton Associates has released a documentary titled “Families Rising” featuring families in the Saginaw community and their involvement in Saginaw MAX System of Care. The seven minute video highlights leaders in the Saginaw MAX initiative alongside youth and families with lived experience, discussing how the initiative has made an impact in their lives and the community as a whole.
Saginaw MAX System of Care Celebrates Children's Mental Health Awareness Day
SAGINAW, MI - Saginaw MAX System of Care is celebrating National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day on Thursday, May 9 in downtown Saginaw with a proclamation ceremony on the steps of City Hall at 4:30 p.m., immediately followed by a balloon release on the Holland Avenue Bridge and a march along Michigan Avenue. The purpose of this celebration is to bring awareness to the mental health needs of youth in the Saginaw community and across the nation, and to promote a healthier understanding of mental health.
