Maximize your potential
You’re at an age when you are going through some of the biggest changes in your life. Your body, your mind and your emotions are all making the transition between childhood and adulthood.
It can be confusing. It can be scary. This is normal. Because everyone goes through the changes, fears and frustrations you feel right now.
About 10 percent of young people have additional challenges:
- They have lots of unusual and sudden mood swings.
- They might feel afraid or anxious all the time, have thoughts that don’t make sense, or act out against themselves or others.
Everyone feels these things now and then. But if you or someone you know has felt or acted this way for a long period of time — a year or more — it could be the sign of complex behavioral and emotional challenges or, as it is sometimes known, Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED).
It doesn’t mean there’s anything wrong with you. It’s an illness, like the flu or a cold. While it can’t exactly be cured, the right help and support can help you feel better. Saginaw MAX System of Care is here to offer you that help and support. Learn more:
